Foxgloves, Ferns and Waterfalls
The countryside of The Lake District has inspired many poets and writers over the centuries, with some of Britain’s largest lakes and by contrast some of the most spectacular mountains. You can find pockets of perfect tranquillity and beauty, of which I hoped to translate some of this into the collection. The Foxglove flowers are made from hand painted silk and formed using traditional silk flower techniques, and attached to hand rolled sinamay stems. The Fern leafs are made from sinamay with a dual tone effect and hand rolled edges.
